The drop & the tinctures
The clock is free and complete. Sending a drop (a tip) is optional — it unlocks the benefactor tinctures, other colors of bioluminescence for the face, and sets a grain of sand on the seabed of the dial. If a drop doesn’t restore on a new device, tap “restore a previous drop” in the about screen, or email the address above.
Settings
On the phone or the web: tap the gear, top right. From there: 24- or 12-hour time, solid or beaded drops, sweeping or pulsing motion, the calendar and week rings, and the New Year send-off. Tap the time itself to switch 12/24 hour quickly.
On Apple Watch: hold the face. Pulse or sweep, 12- or 24-hour time, and the weekday ring live there. Hours, motion, and calendar·week also travel from the iPhone gear to a paired Watch.
The complication
Add Bathyal to any Watch face. The live rings rewrite themselves as the day moves — every time of day has its own pattern. A glance at 9:14 does not look like 9:15, and neither looks like dusk. Tap the complication to open the instrument.
The Lock Screen
The same rings sit on the iPhone Lock Screen. Long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize, then Add Widgets and choose Bathyal — the round one. Hours, motion, and calendar·week follow from the gear on the phone. Every minute has its own pattern.
